Youth Leadership and Peace Education
Preparing young people to lead positive community change.
Project Overview
Leadership, peace education, and practical community action
Somali Youth Vision regularly delivers youth leadership training, peace education, peace camps, and mentorship programs. These activities prepare young people to take constructive roles in their communities and to address challenges through dialogue, service, and peaceful leadership.
A recent Youth Leadership and Peace Course in Mogadishu and Baidoa trained aspiring young leaders in conflict resolution, public speaking, and project management. Courses are designed to move beyond classroom learning by encouraging participants to develop their own youth-led peace activities.
The initiative is grounded in SYV’s belief that youth are agents of change rather than targets of change. Participants are encouraged to create peace clubs, volunteer groups, and community initiatives that apply their skills to real local needs.
Geographic Focus: Mogadishu and Baidoa, with related activities across SYV’s areas of operation.
