Building climate awareness and community resilience
Somali Youth Vision works with the youth-led climate organization Green Arlaadi to engage young people in environmental protection and community resilience. The initiative helps communities respond to the growing risks posed by floods, droughts, and other climate-related shocks.
SYV and Green Arlaadi have delivered climate-awareness and disaster-preparedness training in rural communities of South West State. Young participants learn how climate risks affect their communities and explore practical ways to protect people, livelihoods, and the local environment.
The initiative encourages youth to turn learning into visible community action. Participants have organized tree-planting activities and local awareness campaigns under the message #OurLandOurFuture, demonstrating the role young people can play in building a greener and safer Somalia.
