Yagleel Capacity Building Program
Building employability, leadership, and livelihood skills.
Project Overview
Practical skills for employment, entrepreneurship, and youth leadership
The Yagleel Capacity Building Program is a multi-month youth fellowship developed by Somali Youth Vision to address skills gaps and improve the employability of young Somalis. The program forms part of SYV’s youth leadership and skills initiatives implemented during the organization’s period of deepening community impact.
Yagleel provides participants with practical learning in areas such as information and communication technology, communication skills, entrepreneurship, and workplace readiness. Its approach recognizes that young people need both technical knowledge and transferable skills to compete for employment, develop enterprises, and contribute effectively to their communities.
By combining capacity building with mentorship and youth engagement, the program supports participants in developing confidence, professional awareness, and a stronger pathway toward economic participation. Yagleel also reflects SYV’s broader model of linking personal development with community responsibility and youth leadership.
Period: Documented within SYV’s 2019–2021 youth leadership and skills programming.
